On November 28, 2017, the Tonga High School held a Sports Award Ceremony. His Excellency Wang Baodong, Chinese Ambassador to Tonga attended the ceremony upon invitation and presented awards to the winners of Special Awards and Personality of the Year. Honorable Penisimani Fifita, Minister of Education and Training, Honorable Siaosi Sovaleni, Member of Parliament were present at the event.

Mr. Isikeli Oko, Deputy CEO of Ministry of Education and Training and Mrs. Taisia Ma’u, Principal of the Tonga High School expressed gratitude for China’s commitment to assistance in building Tonga High School Sports Facility Complex and providing technical and material aid in sports, looking forward to further development of Tongan sports undertaking through strengthened cooperation between Tonga and China.
