H.E. Liu Weimin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Tonga arrived in Tonga on 18th April, 2024. Ms. ‘Ilaisipa ‘Alipate, Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Chief of Protocol and the senior diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Tonga received Ambassador Liu at the airport.

Ambassador Liu expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Tongan side. He said he was honored to be the new Chinese Ambassador to Tonga, and will spare no effort to work with friends from all walks of life in Tonga to promote China-Tonga comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual respect and common development, and bring more tangible benefits to the two peoples.

H.E. Liu Weimin is the 9th Chinese Ambassador to Tonga.
