Notice on Walk-in Without Appointment Visa Application Service

China and Tonga have a mutual visa exemption agreement, which allows Tongan citizens to enter China without a visa for up to 30 days with a private, diplomatic, or official passport. However, if the intended stay exceeds 30 days or if the purpose of the visit is for study, a visa application must be submitted in accordance with Chinese regulations (http://cs.mfa.gov.cn/wgrlh/lhqz/lhqzjj_660596/).

Starting from November 20, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Tonga will cancel online visa appointments. Applicants can directly submit the application with the visa application form and related materials to the Chinese Embassy. The process is as follows:

1. Fill out the visa application form online and print the paper application form. Applicants must log on to China Online Visa Application websit (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn) to fill out the visa application form online. After completing the filling, download the paper version of the application form (full form) and sign on the confirmation page.

2. Go to the Chinese Embassy to submit application materials.

Warm reminderAfter canceling the online visa appointment, there may be more on-site applicants during peak hours. It is recommended to arrange the time reasonably and submit applications at staggered times.
