Applying for a Visa for China What You Need to Know
2023-05-04 04:47

China and Tonga have a mutual visa exemption agreement, which allows Tongan citizens to enter China without a visa for up to 30 days with a private, diplomatic, or official passport. However, if the intended stay exceeds 30 days or if the purpose of the visit is for study, a visa application must be submitted in accordance with Chinese regulations (http://cs.mfa.gov.cn/wgrlh/lhqz/lhqzjj_660596/).

Our embassy has implemented a comprehensive online visa application system, and all applicants (including those with diplomatic or official passports) must use the "China Visa Online Application" system (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn) to truthfully and completely fill out the "Application Form of the People's Republic of China for Visa". After completing the form, the confirmation page and the form itself must be printed and signed. Applicants must also use the "China Visa Online Appointment" system (https://avas.mfa.gov.cn) to make an appointment, and print the appointment confirmation to be submitted with the passport and other required documents at the appointed time.

For now, please contact the Hong Kong Immigration Department and the Macao Public Security Police Force respectively for information on applying for visas to visit Hong Kong and Macao, until further notice.
