I. Basic documents required:
1. Passport with validity for 6 or more and at least 2 blank visa pages;
2. A photocopy of the passport information page.
3. Completed Visa Application Form with one recent passport-photo attached;
4. Supplements relevant to
--- Tourist Visa (L): Return tickets, hotel voucher and financial certificate or notary of relationship and invitation from relatives in China;
--- Business Visa (F): Visa notification from the authorized unit and Invitation from an institution or a business contact in China;
--- Working Visa (Z): Work Permit, Employment License issued by Chinese Labor Authorities and a statement of confirmation by the employer, an official visa notification, a physical examination.
--- Student Visa (X): J-W201/J-W202 Form issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education and aLetter of Admission by the school, a physical examination.
5. Travelers to Tibet are advised to participate in a Group Tour organized by travel agencies or obtain approval from China Tibet Tourism Bureau before submitting applications (www.tibettour.org Fax: 0086-891-6834313).
II. When to apply? Apply for the visa personally within 2 months prior to the intended date of entry to China.

IV. Travel to Hong Kong
Visas are not required for tourists traveling with Tonga passports, who may enjoy a "visa free period for visit not exceeding 3months".
