On 31 August, 2018, Chinese Embassy in Tonga held Welcome-back Reception for the participants who attended the 2018 Seminar on Basic Education of Primary Schools for Tonga and 2018 Seminar on State-owned Enterprise Management for Tonga in China . Hon. Penisimani Fifita, Minister for Education and Training, officials from Tongan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Public Enterprises, senior executives from Tongan public enterprises and officials from the Academy of International Business Officials of Ministry of Commerce of China attended upon invitation.

In speeches delivered respectively by H.E. Ambassador Wang Baodong and Hon.Minister Fifita, they both credited the above-stated two seminars for their positive roles in deepening bilateral human resource development cooperation, promoting Tongan development in economy and education as well as enhancing friendly relationship between China and Tonga.

Two representatives of the seminar participants shared their training achievements and experience in China, saying that the seminars not only upgraded their professional knowledge and skills, but also increased their understanding of the Chinese people. They pledged to apply what they acquired from the Seminars to their daily work, so as to contribute to Tonga’s economic and social development and help strengthen the mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
